![]() Plenty of others choose a different path, relying on the power of historical accuracy alone. On the other hand, warband does have a plethora of mods, from game of thrones to LotR, complete with iconic locations like Winterfell and Minas Tirith, not to mention the MP mods that include Full Invasion 2, which allows you to team up with other players against a variety of foes.Knights in shining armor, swordplay, jousting, intrigue, and superstition–who doesn’t love a good story from the Middle Ages? A fan favorite backdrop for many video games, many of them pepper mundane historical reality with much sought-after special ingredients like orcs and elves and magic and dragons. Warband does the large scale Battle mode, and Siege mode bestĪs for duel it's pretty equal, it just really depends on which combat system you prefer more (both have depth but Warband's has a few more options over Chivalry)īut really, they are both quite different games, and different ppl will either like one or the other. were i to compare them by game mode,Ĭhivalry does Team objective, TDM and DM best Personally, i prefer warband, but thats just my opinion. Chivalry is at its best in modes like TDM and DM (team based objective is similar to TDM) I thought the community was pretty nice When the server was emptied and it was just some dude and myself, dude (Rank 36) went head to head with me to teach me a few tricks about blocking, I thought that was cool.įor multiplayer, i believe that warband excels in its larger battles, especially if you can get a good team to do tactics like shield walls, or formed cavalry charges.Ĭhivalry has better graphics and feel, i mean you can really almost feel the hammer crushing your opponents skull in, and battles really do feel like your at the heart of the action. The combat system feels more natural and the environment much more immersive. So many things are vital to staying alive and succeeding. The right class, the right weapon, blocking, parrying, footwork, timing, combos, teamwork. I persisted for 6 hours and eventually started to really get it. I created my own game and played about 20 minutes against bots and got totally humiliated. Last week I traded a couple TF2 keys for Chivalry:Medieval Warfare. Large scale environments and battles but poor detail, the graphics are definately outdated. I got the whole Mount & Blade collection on GMG last year for super cheap and played Warband about an hour before deciding I just couldn't find enjoyment in the mechanics, the combat system feels rigid and unnatural. Thanks for comparison, OP! Here's my input: Graphics and effects somewhat dated, and no decapitation. you wont be leading an epic army in SP or hacking heads off in MP anytime soon. Shields are extremely effective, but eventually break in combat. ![]() Weapons feel less unique and more similar to eachother Larger selection of weapons, as well as the ability to choose your armor. Teamplay can change alot, but is hard to find on public servers without friends or a clan. More indepth combat, with 4 directions to attack and manually block, as well as feinting,įoot work, mouse acceleration/deceleration, and effective but hard to pull off "Ripostes" (chambering) Large scale multiplayer battles that include cavalry Has regenerating health as well as a stamina systemĮpic singleplayer mode (but is better benefitted by mods that improve it) Single button blocking accompanied by various attacks, as well as feints, delays andĪccelerations as well as momentum/speed modifiers Teamwork, while effective, is not quite as much as a focus Has depth despite being easy to get into. Killing opponents are satisfying to watch (heads and limbs fly off) They most certainlty are not copies of eachother despite being similar, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. I intend to break down and analyze the major differences in order to help you make a better choice. These games are definetly two different cups of tea, appealing to different kinds of people.
